The DFL-500 offers the flexibility to foil or laminate digitally-printed applications with ease. Matte and gloss lamination can be used, providing an added-value layer of protection that also helps spot coating embellishments stand out. For toner foiling, the DFL-500 applies adhesive foil anywhere black toner is printed without the use of dies. Foiling on top polymer can also be done for a raised foil effect.

DFL-500: Budget-Friendly Foil and Laminator
The DFL-500 Foil/Laminator is a versatile, budget-friendly solution for enhancing digitally printed output. Ideal for short runs and variable data jobs, this foiling and laminating machine allows you to apply both toner and polymer-based foil as well as single-sided lamination, providing a professional finish without the high costs of traditional methods.
Foil invitations, greeting cards, and packaging without the need for stamping dies. With speeds of up to 15 sheets per minute, it’s a reliable and efficient machine for on-demand digital foiling and lamination.
Toner-Reactive Foiling
The DFL-500 enables simple, in-house digital toner-based foiling. The heated roller fuses foil with printed toner. Simply print your artwork in 100% black toner, set up the foil roll, and heat the machine to 135°F. The foil is automatically applied to the printed sheets, ready for finishing. The DFL-500 works with all types of foils, available in a variety of colors to suit your needs.
Polymer Foiling with Raised Effects
Create tactile foiled effects with polymer foiling. The three-step process involves lamination, spot coating, and foiling. Begin by laminating your printed sheets with the DFL-500, then process them on a spot UV coater like the Duplo DDC-810 Pro, then return the sheets to the DFL-500 to apply foil for a luxurious, raised finish. This feature is perfect for short-run business cards and book covers. Duplo USA offers gold and silver polymer-based foils for a high-end, touchable finish.
Thermal Laminating
The DFL-500 also offers thermal lamination to protect printed materials while enhancing their look and feel. Laminating film is heat-activated, and the DFL-500 accommodates gloss, matte and soft-touch rolls. Whether adding lamination on its own or as a layer under spot UV or polymer foiling, it provides a clean, durable finish. It comes equipped with a side trimmer to cut the width of the film and an automatic side-to-side flying knife separator system.
