SYSTEM 5000: Fast, Versatile, and Extremely Productive

Duplo’s SYSTEM 5000 collating and bookletmaking solution is their most advanced and productive finishing system. The SYSTEM 5000 incorporates DC-10/60 collating towers, the dynamic DBM-500 bookletmaker, a face trimmer, and a precision stacker. The new system offers complete flexibility by accepting both set-by-set of the traditional offset market and sheet-by-sheet pre-collated output of digital printers, eliminating the need for two separate solutions.

The SYSTEM 5000’s suction-feed towers are expandable up to 60 bins and collate up to 10,000 sets per hour. Two fans ensure accurate feeding for a wide range of paper stocks and each tower is equipped to operate independently, allowing two jobs to run simultaneously in two different output directions. The block mode allows for on the fly reloading and downtime is dramatically reduced as doubles and misfeeds are immediately diverted into a unique reject tray without stopping or interrupting production.

Developed to meet UP3i standardization, the DBM-500 bookletmaker produces up to 5,000 booklets per hour and all adjustments can be made on the fly without effecting processing speed. Without any manual adjustments, the DBM-500/T bookletmaker/trimmer can handle a complete changeover including both job size and thickness. The DBM-500 stores 12 frequently used jobs in memory for effortless changeover.

IMBF (Intelligent Multi-bin Feeder): Satisfying the Most Sophisticated Collating

The DC-10/60 collator is upgraded to the IMBF with the addition of an optional touch-screen PC controller and custom designed Duplo software. The IMBF is capable of collating the most complex jobs by allowing the operator to select the quantity of sheets to feed from each bin, which bins to feed from, and the feeding sequence.

DSF-2000 Document Sheet Feeder + Bookletmaker/Trimmer

The DSF-2000 sheet-by-sheet feeding system is designed to serve the growing need of finishing digital print-on-demand documents by combining the advantages of both in-line and off-line finishing solutions. The near-line advantage of the DSF-2000 allows you to merge black and white output with a color cover from multiple print sources. The DSF-2000 provides consistent set integrity for feeding documents containing variable data via OMR (optical mark recognition) system or with the addition of optional barcode readers. When working with non-variable sets, the amount of sheets per set is simply inputted into the control panel for automatic feeding. The DC-545HC is a versatile finishing solution for the short-run on-demand market that’s able to automatically slit, cut, and crease a document in one pass. Professional quality, full-bleed business cards, greeting cards, invitations, brochures, catalogs, posters, book covers, photographs, and more are achieved at the push of a button. A barcode reader enables the machine to instantly recall up to 80 pre-programmed jobs. The DC-545HC also reads a registration mark, which compensates for image shift and ensures precise output every time. The creasing unit eliminates unsightly cracks, which is essential with folded color printed documents.
